How much of an upgrade is Klipsch HD-600?

I currently have this setup. Used only for movies. It was my first home theatre and so now I'm looking for something better. I don't have a huge budget and I'm not looking for anything too fancy.
I saw the HD-600 setup listed for $500 on bestbuy and amazon. I want to know how much of an upgrade is it over my current system in terms of sound quality and bass? I will use the same Yamaha receiver.
Also the HD-1000 was listed for the same ~$500 price. How much better is it compared to 600?

I would recommend that you check out the Martin-Logan MLT-2 setup.

It is very good for only $400 or so (MUCH better IMO than the Kilpsch setup).

I practically want to throw up when I read the Klipsch description of the 600 system; they have the unbelievable gall to describe a 2.5-inch speaker as a WOOFER!

That is like calling a Fiat 500 a limousine.

The MLT-2 system has 4.5-inch main speakers; not quite a woofer, but at least bigger than the speaker in a Motel 6 clock radio. It also has a fair subwoofer; much better than the Klipsch or Take systems.

Are the MLT-2 going to be a noticeable improvement over my current setup? I don't have the advantage of testing them out before buying since I'll be ordering them from abroad.

The speakers in your current Yamaha setup are not good at all. They use a 2.75" full range driver. No seperate woofer & tweeter. Plus the speaker has a low sensitivity of 83db. the MLT-2 will sound much louder and better at the same volume. Newegg currently has the MLT-2 on sale for $275 with a promo code.

If you have $500 to spend and can get larger speakers than what you currently own I'd recommend you get some bookshelf speakers instead of satellites. Here are some suggestions.

1. 3 pair RBH AC51 silver. 5.25" woofer and 1" tweeter. Use one of the speakers as a center, lay sideways if necessary. $79/pr

Thank's for the response. However since I have to ship these from USA (to Pakistan) I'll have to order 1 complete system rather than 3 different pair of speakers in 3 separate boxes (shipping cost for that would kill me and chances of loss is high) so my only choice is one complete 5.1 system. The MLT-2 you suggested look great. I have another option of Polk Audio RM705. Between these two which do you think is a better value? These are both under $300.
And are these a good match for my receiver?
