Dual sub configuration Question - Page 2

I have none of those. I even rejected my YPAO results. Through time consuming trial and error and endless hrs of playing with settings my ears serve me quite well and I am very happy with the result. I have actually been surprised at how many things that I was unknowingly doing "technically" correct just by adjusting things by ear and then reading about it later. Everyone doesn't need a computer to tell them what sounds good.

IMO, the Omnimic is a "nice to have", and even though I'm not a pro home theater installer, I have one...and it's nice.

I like it because it gives me a real-time picture of the FR of my sub and/or speakers and allows me to make tweaks (such as adjusting the EQ on my sub amp) and instantly see the results. And because I bought my buddy's mic off him for $200, it wasn't too big a hit on the wallet.

Sure it is. And what's the price of a decent set of Doug Thorley headers for your V-8? Same sort of thing. The point, if one wants performance, then it pays to get the gear that will give them that performance.

In the case of subs, room analyzers, sound meters and EQ systems help get the most performance out of any set of subwoofers. If one cares about subwoofer sound quality, this is required behavior. To be encouraging, it's like this with "ANY" hobby whether running half marathons, taking your bicycle to Death Valley, buying a pair of tickets to a Knicks game or riding a train through wine country. Just saying.

Sharing insight here. One can simply buy a single subwoofer, drop it into their system and be unhappy with the results or, even if it didn't start out this way, use this as an excuse to get involved, get waist deep in the swamp, see where the ride takes them and have a good time in the process.

And if you got the OmniMic and the Thorley headers, you could do a graph of the header change. The possibilities.

Not without a USB/phantom power source to power the mic and get the signal into the computer.

This is the Phantom Power supply I chose.

One has to be aware, when more gain is used with an appliance of this type, more distortion will be introduced into the information stream. At the lower frequencies, this is not a problem but when one purchases an item of this type, they should be aware of introduced distortion.

My feedback calibration efforts agree with the findings of the video author and showed that the ART Pre gain settings showed the best at about 18dB.
