I used to never have issues with VLC player. Just recently, I had a need to use it. But, quickly realized all media playback stutters; and, can barely play any videos correctly. With MPC-HC, it takes full advantage of my hardware; and, can even scale in real time 2160P or 4K H.264 videos without any stuttering.
I've tried completely cleanly uninstalling VLC and also tried many different versions. What settings should I use for it to playback like MPC-HC? I'm using an extremely standard PC (Intel quadcore, Nvidia 640GT, Creative Labs XiFi) using all WHQL certified drivers.
One thing I noticed right away VLC looks like it uses old fashioned video overlay instead of EVR.
