How come onkyo rc460 won't play movies from iPhone

I have the onkyo rc 460. It says I can play movies through my iPhone. they are movies I copied from my DVD to I tunes. But they don't show up on the receiver when I conect it it only says purchased?

Where did you see a claim that it could "play videos though my iPhone"? All network/USB connectivity is audio only. Do you have Apple TV or Airport Express?

In the manual it says press mode to switch between music and video.

Wow thats a cool new feature. Your using apple's official AV cable? Also extended mode (video) isn't guaranteed to work with all iphone/ipod models (pg. 25). I'd send Onkyo an email and see what they have to say.

But already obsolete, since apple has changed to a digital only connector. Looks like the USB connection only passes audio and control information. You need Apple's special A/V cable (or maybe a dock with video out). I have the iPhone 5, so no video for me...

Yes but I have the iPhone 3GS. And it does not show me video that I loaded on my phone.
