Is there a difference between the Mirage Prestige S10, and the PS-10?

The manual for the PS10 states it has a 100w amp, while the Prestige S10 has a 300w amp. Conversely The new S10s from mirage have 200w amps, but are tuned lower than the old Prestige down to 21hz.

The old Energy VSW/ESW10s had the same driver and amp as the Prestige.

The new S10's from Mirage? What would those be?

The Mirage Omni s10 is the sister sub of the Energy s10.3 which was discontinued years ago. They've both been around since at least 2004. Mirage s10 is discontinued too but nobody is buying them, especially at $529 MSRP which is why you still see them advertised.

If they dropped the price down to $199 like newegg did the s10.3 they'd be gone by now.

New in relation to the prestige.

Edit: not so much semantics I guess, the omni and prestige seem to share release dates, or close enough. I wrongly thought the prestige was older.

Lots of the models you are looking at are going to be somewhat on the same level of performance. If you can specify how loud (dB) you want to be able to achieve, it would be a lot easier to offer advice.

Most of the mass produced offerings give a lot of looks with a little less performance. All the glitz adds to the $$. Some of the best performing systems are ones that the general public could never just buy from BB or the Box stores. You might want to look into the internet direct systems that have been mentioned as they are well built and have excellent drivers compared to what's inside most of the lower priced BB offerings. Remember, everybody has to make a share when you buy from the local store. It is shipped many times before it gets to you and each handler adds his share. Look into the HSU, SVS, Klipsch that has been mentioned. But, my advice to you is to hold off on any purchases because the 300 or so spent could result in you being disappointed and then having to spent more and more to get the results you were after. Buy it once and be done.

There is 1 seller on Amazon with 2 s10.3's. They have had them for $399 for about 4 months that I know of. I sent them an email twice offering $250 and they did not respond. They are going to hold on to them for $399 until hell freezes over.
edit I just noticed the last time one was sold at Amazon was 10 months ago.

Bi-polar is just a type of speaker and has nothing to do with quality.
