Infinity Primus 163, Polk RTi4, or Polk RTi6?

Best Buy was unable to let me hear these. Frys has the Polk RTi4 for $129 and the RTi6 for $199 for a pair. I'm wondering if I should jump on these as it appears they retail for more, especially the RTi6. The Infinity 163 seems to consistently sell for $129 and tends to review well from users. I will be using this set with a subwoofer.

I'm going to buy a set in the next few days for my front left/right. Which do you think would be my best bet based upon the pricing at hand? Thanks for everyone's help!

Crutchfield has the P163 fro 86 each.

They have a 60 day return policy, so you would have little risk.

I love my P162's.(Same speaker different color scheme and number).

I think they offer a great bang for the buck.

Fry's will put the P163 on sale anywhere from $109-$129 per PAIR.

Butie, you can actually listen to all 3 speakers in the Fry's sound room. Take some music with you and give a test before making your purchase. Occasionally the Rti6 price can drop down to $179/pr.

I don't have a Fry's anywhere near me (Live in Minneapolis). I jumped on the sale and bought the RTi4's on Fry's for $129/pair. I've read great things on them and am going off the reviews.I've heard that paying an extra $70 for the RTi6 may not be worth it, and that as long as you have a sub (which I will), the RTi4's will do just fine. Let's hope so anyway...

So, this is the first piece to my first ever sound system, a pair of Rti4's. Kinda exciting smile.gif

I heard both in Fry's last week. Don't think the RTi6 is worth the extra $70. You could put that towards your subwoofer or use toward another pair for RTi4 for surround speakers.

Nice! That's reassuring. How do you like the RTi4's? I almost jumped on getting the Energy CB-20's at Best Buy for $150, but I saw this deal at Fry's and I went for it.

How do you like the Polk RTi4's? I'm about to pull the trigger (I think) on a pair of budget bookshelf speakers to be used for music but without a sub. Deciding between the RTi4's and the Infinity Primus 163's.

Can get the RTi4's from Frys for $149.50 shipped.
Can get the Infinity Primus 163's for $154.98 shipped.

Would love to hear your reaction to your RTi4's. Thanks!

If you are using them for music with out subwoofer the Infinity's are the way to go. They have more possible bass than the RTi4's

While I love my RTi4's and will be buying another pair soon I find they work best with a subwoofer like most book shelf speakers. I have listened to my RTi4's without a subwoofer and really like them but a subwoofer really benefits them

Thanks for the helpful responses to my questions here (and your considerate PM butie120). In the end, was going to go with the Infinity's, but I snagged a deal on a pair of open box Definitive Technologies SM350s for $108 and pulled the trigger on those instead. Thanks again for the help, though. Much appreciated.
