500$ budget system ?

Hi ,guys i'm trying to build a new 5.1 system for movies/music/gaming on desktop/ps3 and atm i got around 500$ i want a strong subwoofer that can shake things up, with some good speakers if 500$ is not enough i can spend around 600sh $
What do ya recommend me ? Thanks .

btw atm i got a Logitech z623 and is ok for a 2.1 not so good but the sub for me its just abit low i want something atlist 2-3x stronger then this .

I'm assuming your budget is for just the sub only and no the whole system? If so I second the SVS PB1000 for $499 shipped.

The Klipsch RW-12d at Newegg.com is currently listed at $349 (shipped), but it has been on sale before (and likely will be again) for $300 (shipped). That leaves you between $250-$300 for speakers. Cambridge S30s - currently priced at $219 at Amazon.com - are well-rated.

Do you already have a receiver? If not, a well-equipped, factory-refurbished Denon AVR-1612 can be had at accessories4less.com for $199.

My guess, due to shipping problems and the need for additional shipping packaging to protect the subwoofer against the ravaging shippers effect on the outer shipping cover, the $349.00 price is the new, on sale norm and the $300.00 on sale price, is last year's on sale price..

Well, if you're right, the OP has a budget of $250 for speakers; and if you're not right, he has a budget of $300 for speakers.

A decent budget HT/music system can be had for $600 if the OP doesn't have an overly large room and expects reference level performance.

I would check out the Jamo H426 5.0 speaker package, a lower level denon or pioneer receiver, and perhaps Dayton's 12" or BIC's F12 sub

Thanks and sorry i meant 500-600sh for the full system i'm likening The one eljaycanuck says the Klipsch RW-12d but yea wasn't able to find the other parts you mention but i'm the speaker kesando, posted but the subwoofer doesn't it look a bit week ? can i get the Jamo H426 5.0 with a Klipsch RW-12d or Polk Audio PSW Series PSW505 and a receiver, in terms of movies/gaming witch would be better of the 2 subwoofers ? . and btw my room is small even the z623 is good for my room i'm one of those who likes allot of bass but more clear . Thanks for ya help

So, receiver, 5 speakers and a sub? $500-$600 is tight, unless you go HTiB or some sort of package deal. IMO, start with a couple of good speakers and a good sub, and build from there. You've got a small room, so a good 2.1 set-up should give you good sound (at least until you can expand to 5.1).

I only posted that particular sub due to your $600 budget. I suspect that the Dayton should do ok in a smaller to medium sized room such as yours. You could go with the Polk and Klipsch subs which are indeed better but that would put you over budget assuming you went with the Jamo and Pioneer AVR

Not sure if you'll find too many Sony AVR fans here including myself. Your AVR is perhaps the most important component in your system and I personally would't skimp on it. The Pioneer that I linked is actually pretty nice considering the price with decent power and room auto calibration. It's also brand new instead of refurbished. You could just save up a bit longer if you must have a better sub... or you could go with the Dayton sub and add a second later sub later which would give you much more even bass and more headroom throughout your room.

nvm guys i read a few reviews on the jamo and i'm not liking them . i do like the way they look but allot of complaints about sound and people buying them on sale for around 120-140$.
so i received a letter from newegg like always and i'm looking at this 2 speakers so i'm i better off with 2 of these?

The Polk and Pioneer speakers mentioned are indeed better overall then the Jamo set. Not sure what is so bad about the Jamo's besides the fact that they are entry level. I have heard them personally and while not blown away, I thought they sounded good overall and made for a great value ( my cousin paid $199 for them through vanns). You really can't beat them with a strict $500-$600 budget overall.

That said I feel you are making the right decision purchasing better speakers, sub and AVR piece by piece. I think you will be better off in the long run.smile.gif

Thanks @kesando yea that's what i'm going to do smile.gif + its not that is bad i'm no audio fanatic but some of the reviews talks about that there 2 light, i have a cat in my house i will lol if she starts running and knocks them down, but Polk got my attention Pioneer did 2 but Amazon is really bad when it counts taxes the pioneer system went to about 480$ and with taxes +4x$ so i will stick with Newegg with the polk
