Smart apps operation in lower end vs higher end TV's

I personally have never tried the smart apps like cinema now, hulu...What I was wondering is if there is a difference in the use of these apps between high end vs lower end TV's. From what I heard at the stores is the lower end do not have dedicated processors and the apps run painfully slow, searching for movies for example is painful.

Does anyone know?

That is true, to some degree. But there are a lot of factors that determine how fast an app loads.

I for one have never been a fan of smart tv's. That's just one more thing to go wrong and a possible cause of headaches and issues (slowness, failed updates, etc). I think folks are better off to use some sort of external source for their apps like a blu-ray player, Roku, AppleTV, or any other number of devices. Easier to update and repair should anything go wrong and they are usually more robust, especially the dedicated devices.
