I'll have to look into the Harmony Smart Control I guess but I still prefer physical buttons (including the customizable ones on the screen) to using my iPhone in most cases. Also, it's hard to beat the value of the 550 for all the functionality you get for around $35-40 on ebay.
Probably my iphone. After I posted it didn't give me any indication that It was submitted.
Nice graphics on that game. My son wants it badly but he'll have to wait (due to the rating). I may just have to do a test run myself and check it out.
The smart control comes with a remote that has hard buttons. Once you consider that all of the buttons can be programmed for both short press and long press (ie, 2 distinct actions per button), the so called "simple" remote becomes pretty powerful**
I also like the feel and balance of it compared to the 550 and the fact that the buttons have a very satisfying click response - I never liked that rubbery/mushy button click response on the 550. (Photo below from Engadget review)
** For example, for my "Watch TV" activity, I programmed the "Menu" button so that the short press activates the DirecTV menu (the default) and the long press activates the Vizio's "Info" Menu (the one that displays in a box across the top of the screen to show the current program resolution, time, etc). So, I can actually have both menus onscreen at once or only one, depending how I click that and in what sequence I do it.
