It seems that ever since my firmware updated to 1.06, I have not been able to adjust the sharpness (greyed out) while watching a 3D Blu-ray. I had done it the day before and then after the update, no dice.
Does anyone know how to adjust sharpness in 3D with firmware 1.06?
I moved my M601d into the bedroom.....still getting used to the size-moved the 50" out of the bedroom and into the living room for now.
my 60" has firmware 1.05, and while watching 3D, the sharpness is grayed out also, and set to 32.
It appears to me, and this is just a hypothesis, that whatever you have your set calibrated too(I used Scott's settings on my 60"), that perhaps the processor in the TV tries to create those setting, but in the 3D environment-where sharpness/back light, and brightness will all need to be higher.
There is 1 user who reported that I believe in Game mode, you can change certain settings while in 3D-so you might try changing to that...or maybe it was computer.
Also, it would seem very difficult to calibrate in 3D, without a 3D reference disk.
Since I moved the 60" into the bedroom-the screen appears a bit more reflective than I once thought. It's still not as shiny as the 50"-but there is some reflectivity-it is the nature of the beast I suppose. I have it mounted to the wall, and tilted down slightly, and that eliminated the reflection from the single over-head light in the bedroom.
We'll see how long the 50" "survives" in the brightly lit(all windows open-daylight), living room. It looks so tiny on the stand where the 60" once stood. I fear the 50" may be too reflective for that room....but, I'm going to live with it a bit longer before I decide and re-order another 60"(stopped the order-wanted to try the 60/50 room switch first).
