Does anyone know off the top of their heads what the return policy is for Sam's club in case I get a dud? Sam's has the 80" on display here locally and I spend about 30 minutes playing around with it last night. Not sure if I really want to drop 3700 + tax on the 80 or go with the much cheaper 70. I like Costco but am not a member yet. I am a member of Sam's so any experience or advice with Sam's you guys may have had would be helpful. I plan on getting my set this week, thanks!
You might want to compare the price at Walmart.com. If you're not already a member of Sam's/Costco, and only plan on using them to purchase the TV-it may be cheaper to just buy it at Walmart. Also, right now they have free shipping to home-which is always nice with big TV's.http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-M701d-A3R-70-1080p-240Hz-Razor-LED-Smart-HDTV/23991022
Save a 1600, and just get the 70". Heck-you can get a 70" and, a 60", for the price of 1-80" Vizio M801d.
Also, both the Club's, and Walmart have a 90 day return policy on TV's-so spend less now, and see how the 70" works out for you. If you find the 70" too small, move the furniture closer to the TV
Oh, and don't forget, you can also have a 60" in the bedroom now......all for the same price as the 80"
Thanks, good to know. Anyone heard any rumors about when Vizio plans on activating the WiFi feature on the remote?
Probably never. I honestly don't believe the remote is Wi-Fi capable. But, changing it to RF would be nice, because currently the IR is horrible.
There was someone that posted about 20? pages back, that there was some procedure that Vizio Tech Support walked him through, to change the mode on his remote. The problem was-he never was able to answer our question, which was; does this change the remote to RF, or IR? And, can it be un-done/reversed?
I'm not keen on doing some procedure that tech support talked someone else into doing, without knowing exactly what will be the end result. So, for now, I use the Dish remote for most things.
and yea, I'm not getting a Harmony Remote-those are nice, but I'd rather have 4 remotes, and the $$'s in my pocket Edited by havasuvideo - 7/23/13 at 12:47pm
