Just in case anyone is interested....the 50" model is on Vizio's website along with the user manual, quick start guide, spec sheet etc....

The manual only includes the 50"/55"/65" so there must be something different about the 60"/70"/80" models.

Thanks for the 'heads-up". Eight pairs of 3D glasses for the 50" is ALOT and it is nice to see 4 HDMI inputs.

Anyway to determine what will have the glass vs matte screen?
All of Vizio's 40"+ TV's have either a semi-gloss or full gloss finish.

No it's all M-Series TV's will have the normal matte screen finish and the 65" will be the only one that has the glossy screen.

That made my choice easier to get the 60" since I won't be able to deal with the glare on the glossy screen since my living room brings in plenty of light.

Amazon has the 65" in stock. Waiting for the 70in to come to Costco myself. Does anyone know if you will be able to convert 2d to 3d on these tv's? Thanks for any info.
I don't think this has been posted. Walmart.com has the 50" listed "In stock for: "• Free store pickup– as soon as 5/24 with Site-to-store"....

No 2D to 3D unfortunately.. The only thing missing in my opinion. Oh well.
I personally would not get the 65" due to it having an 8ms response time, that's too high! The 50" and 55" have a 5ms response time, which is much better(anything under 6ms is good). Don't know about the 60"/70"/80" models yet since they're not included in the manual for 50"/55"/65" models.

*Vizio's M-series are showing on Walmart's, Amazon's, and Best Buy's websites.
What's the chance of a TV that released a week prior top memorial day going on sale for the weekend?

Amazon has the 14 day price guarantee so I guess there is no real reason to wait
post #341 of 8756
Probably too soon to go on sale, however, Fry's Electronics now has the Sony 70R550A advertised for $1599 and that set was released in Jan. of 2013, so you never know what kind of inventory Vizio may have at introduction and how they want to attacck the 70" market. I'm sure they realize that they have already missed a lot of sales by coming to the market this late.
Figure as much, would really like to see this vs the R550A to make my decision. Sony 50 vs this 55
post #343 of 8756
The M-series displays are beautifully designed, very similar to recent LG's. The specs are similar to the LM7600 of 2012, hopefully uniformity will be better and less banding when the dimming (16 zones) feature is employed. Interested if there has been calibration improvements like custom smooth motion (de-blur/judder), smart dimming (low-med-high) and better CMS?

The VIZIO 50” Class Razor LED™ Smart TV with Theater 3D® has been listed on Vizio.com !!! Shows "Coming Soon" currently.

http://store.vizio.com/led-lcd-hdtvs/m501da2r.html

Yep ... they are starting to now arrive ... with the information gathered lately from Amazon and also the Vizio facebook reps ... NOW the first M-Series to be listed on Vizios actual site .... they will all start rolling one after the other in the next couple weeks for sure.

My eyes are peeled for that 70" sitting on a Costco shelf ... when it does, I will have in the living room that same night. smile.gif
post #345 of 8756
Walmart now has both the 50" and 55" versions listed online .....

50" ($798) - http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-M501d-A2R-50-1080p-240Hz-Razor-LED-Smart-HDTV/23991018

55: ($1,198) - http://www.walmart.com/ip/VIZIO-M551d-A2R-55-1080p-240Hz-Razor-LED-Smart-HDTV/23991019

BOTH IN STOCK READY TO BE DELIVERED !!!

They Are Officially here now! smile.gif

Plus the walmart listing has the FULL details straight from Vizio on the M-Series TV's (see my next post that I copied form the site)

Also scroll to the bottom of the page for the .. Owners Manual, Quick Start Guide, Data Sheet and Energy Guide Label.

These guides cover 3 sizes in the line ... the 50" 55" & 65"

ALSO there is an all new embedded video from Vizio as well on the new M-Series line of TV's (video starts off with "The New M-Series Has Arrived!" )

Looks like those will be the 3 sizes that will be released first in this new M-Series line of Vizios.

If that's true it was quick, I was seriously considering biting on that 70" sony if that truly was the price. But it's listed at $3199.

Anyone here able to get a Costco item number for any of these?
It's also listed on Best Buy's Site for a $1 more than Wal-Mart. I hate Wal-Mart so I'll be spending the extra buck.
So that Fry's sale on the sony was an anniversary door buster sale. They don't even give rainchecks for it and they ain't ordering any more until after the sale was over. I wish the person on the phone spent a few ****ing seconds to find out it would have saved me from wasting a ****ing trip.
Best buy has 65" and 55" as we speak. Will post pics shortly.

Anxiously awaiting some sort of review...

I've seen these on the Walmart website the last couple of days for site to store delivery and I really want to pull the trigger on a 55".

The biggest downfalls I can find on the panel is possible uniformity issues and the faked 240hz refresh rate since it uses backlight scanning. If there are no uniformity issues, I would gladly overlook the 240hz backlight scanning.

Trying to figure out how you came to the conclusion that this new M-Series TV has uniformity issues when really it hasn't even beer reviewed anywhere and no one even seems to have pone yet.

Lets wait for a review or a user review before we jump to conclusion about any issues a TV that no one has seen yet.

But yet the 240hz is a gimmick but it does nothing to the picture ... all makers have been doing this faked 240hz for years no so it;s nothing new really.

32"
50"

65"

Are all listed on Best Buys website but show coming soon.

Seems they are not ready for internet sales but some stores are already carrying them.

Uniformity is arguably the biggest complaint with edge-lit sets whether local-dimming is there or not. I think he's just crossing his fingers that the new M-Series has good to great screen uniformity. I'm a little nervous myself about it because I heard up, down, left and right from many pro reviews that the M3Dxx0KD had perfect screen uniformity and it sucked. As for the 240Hz Backlight Scanning, I wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure you can turn it off completely or at least tone it down in the settings. I owned the HX950, long story, with "REAL" 240Hz and I didn't notice much difference between the 950's 240Hz and my Samsung D630's 120Hz as far as motion resolution.

i assume it's because the TV is edge lit. uniformity is often a problem with edge lit LCDs and something one might consider a design flaw inherent with the all edge lit TVs...

but ya, we have yet to see how much of an issue it is.
