I called costco, ( the closest one is 2 hours away form me ) but Im guessing if I order online, they will just ship it to me, like any other retailer? Anso , I did get a little confused when he was speed talking about the membership and credit cards , but the way I understood was...
There are 2 cards one for $55 and one for $110.. The one for 110 is the one you earn points and cash back on, and the other is just like a Sams Club card that makes you a member so you can walk into the store.. Also He said that for non members , there is a $35 non member fee for orders placed, and that it would just be better to get the 1 year membership for $55, which does make sense ..
Then came the AMEX credit card... I dont even want to go there , as I defaulted on a Credit card last year when I was laid off from work... Not only would I not get it, I dont even want a soft credit pull, until I need something important. SO with BB out, Its down to Amazon or Costco, Amazon has the square trade and smart guard plans, and as long as I can get at least 4 years of warranty Ill be OK, Ill have to look on costcos site, because I know a 5 year Square trade, or smart guard plan is around $300.. So what is the best way to get the best warranty from costco? Do you have to apply for the AMEX card, or are they just extremely cheap on the square trade plans?
If I go to costco, ( or order online ) the m701,to pay in cash/credit card, and want 5 total years of warranty without getting a card, because I know it wont happen , what do I do
here are some things about costco related to all these conversations. some may me out of date so worth checking into before fully taking my word.
-you can but the costco / square trade warranty from costco / costco online, even if you didn't buy the tv from them. i'm guessing you lose a year, but still a better deal than other channels
-you can use other credit cards on costco online
-you can buy costco gift cards online with other credit cards then go to the bricks and mortar store and buy the tv with those gift cards.
-you can get a free pass to shop to buy from the pharmacy (some federal regulation i think that cant deny you access to the pharmacy and since the pharmacies are usually within the store, you can buy with that day pass) (only heard this, never needed to try as i have always been a member.
-costco executive membership costs 100$ and gives you 2% back. a good deal if you spend over 2700$ annually. also offers some obscure other perks that arent of much use unless youre a business.
- thats all i can think of right now.
