Add a sub to powered bookshelf speakers?

I have the Monster Clarity HD Model One bookshelf speakers. They are powered, and have RCA ins only (for TV purposes). They also have a 3.5 mm aux in as well.

I have all my HDMI cables hooked directly up to my TV, and the RCA outs go to the speakers. They sound amazing, but are really lacking in bass.

I was contemplating adding a sub. Obviously I'd need a receiver, then add a sub. Does anyone know if you can output RCA to powered bookshelves AND output LFE at the same time from a receiver?

All you need to do is get a RCA "Y" connector and connect it to one of the audio output jacks of the TV, and send the same audio signal from the TV to the subwoofer as well as your existing speakers.

Nothing to it.

The RCA AH25 is $1.19 from Amazon.

If your subwooofer has two line-level inputs you can get two of them and split both channels, but one is enough.
