Mounting projector and A lens in projection room?

I am building a dedicated room and the back wall is adjacent to the equipment room. One of the things I don't like about using a projector is the having a projector above your head concept. My room will be 24' deep and 16.5' wide and I am thinking a 2.35:1 screen that could be anywhere from 120-140" wide. Does anyone know of a projector that would be capable of throwing an image bright and long enough that I can mount the projector through an opening or window on the back wall? Is this a goofy idea? I think it would be cool if it is possible.

Lots of us dont like projectors above our heads, so yours is not a goofy idea! See mine here and the separate projection area.

I feel as you do. My projector is mounted on the ceiling but behind me. The real issue is most of the median priced projectors have throw ratios just over 2:1. My old Sony is 2.4.:1 but recent models are about 2.2:1. Only higher end units that have multiple lenses that have throw ratios greater than 2:1. JVC units are 2.8:1 but that is about the limit for single lens units. It sounds like you need a projector with multiple throw lenses. Runco makes them and other manufacturer's do as well but there is usually a price tag associated with this capability. Behind my theater is a bathroom that I would like to convert into a projection booth like you describe. Good luck.
