I'm looking for some help on whether to purchase a 55D8000 or 55ES7003 LED TV. The 2011 8000 is around $1600, and the 2012 7003 is $1500. From what I understand the 7003 model was a holiday special model (very similar to the 7100).
The Samsung website is pretty useless for trying to compare features as I know that some of the features listed on the 7003 are incorrect. For instance, it states the 7003 does not have built-in WiFi, is not a smart TV, etc. These are incorrect. Both of these models have the ultra-thin bezel which I like. Is there any reason to go for the newer 7 series vs last year's 8 series?
I currently have a UN55C8000, which I love. Unfortunately, Samsung no longer makes any TV that's as thin as the C8000 was (.9"). Even the new 9 series are around 1.4".
Thoughts?
