That is a thing and you're right.

Candice Glover made me a believer tonight. Exquisite. Too much a jazz singer at heart to win this thing though, I'm thinking.

Interesting way to reveal the top 10. However, Seacrest standing at the door with the contestant came across as really awkward. Really surprised there is no wildcard picks this year.

I was surprised at the lack of wildcard picks also. I thought the judges would pick two of the non-chosen contestants to fill out the normal 12-contestant field.

I wouldnt be surprised if this cheeseball show added two wildcards right before next week's show airs.

You can be sure they would have if any of their favorites didn't make it through. I didn't see any glaring omissions, so maybe not.

It would be funny if they put that psychotic kid in and Zonette.

... My quandary right now is that the winner is usually a boy or girl next door type... If it is a girl this year, does Angie or Candice fit into that description for the girl? The audience usually vote for someone they can identify with... These two are too talented, shall we say... So I wonder how all of this will turn out... Who's the dark horse in the top 10?
I've got the final 2 as Candice and Curtis.....

My thoughts are that Elijah Liu and Aubrey Cleland got the 6th places and will sing off for the concert spot. Does anyone care? LOL !

The first rule of American Idol is......don't be late to American Idol!

Can't remember her name, that is sad, but the girl that Jimmy said was like always in a beauty pagent, third singer I think. Wow, she has an amazing voice, I don't recall her being THAT good in past shows.

Angie Miller.

I thought these 3 were the best.

The Miley looking chick (Angie) was good but I didn't really care, it was boring to me for some reason.

Everyone else can just go now. I think it will be the stutterer or the country chick. Hopefully the stutterer.

Nicki Minaj isn't annoying me any more for some reason. I actually look forward to her comments unlike the other 3. She has funny stuff to say and it actually hits the mark most of the time. I will say I think you have to be in the right mood for her though.

Mariah Carey is an automatic fast forward. Occassionally I try to give her a chance and I attempt to listen to the first few seconds of her "judging" and it never goes well. Instead of just getting to her "point" she always starts off with something that just brings the show to a screeching halt.
"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Burrrreeeeeeeeelllllllll. How are youuuuuuuu??????" DONE FASTFORWARD.

What a horrible choice for first show, start it with some of the worst song writing in history. But luckily they could choose any song they performed. Not just the songs wrote for them.

Candice, Amber, Angie, Kree, Burnel.

In that order.

Kree, I love her tone but I just wasn't blown away like I was with the first two in my list. For me, they can just take Candice and Kree off the list and give them an album. The contest is left to the rest.

There's no way, at this point, there can be a male winner.

They've stacked the list with gay or effeminate male contestants to get the little voting girls not to vote for their biggest crush. But gay and supermetro guys are the in thing nowadays, so I don't know.

Maybe because I dig Mariah, I don't mind her rambling. She does have singing talent and experience, so she's not as useless as a judge as someone like J-lo, Niki, Elen, and whoever else. But I fast forward through all of them. I take snippets to see what they thought, but I mainly only listen to the singers when I watch.

This whole season has been designed so there won't be another WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) winner. It's also an example of a business telling their customers what they should want ...and the ratings show the customers aren't interested. Last night, Idol only drew a 3.6 rating against almost all repeats (Survivor was the one major show with a new episode).

What those ratings stories are largely ignoring is that broadcast television is a trainwreck. Networks have failed miserably at coming up with new shows that could perform in the ratings. AI is very, very fortunate to be in a freefall at a time when there is almost no competition. Two and a Half Men is in its tenth season, survived the loss of its main actor, and still managed to beat AI last week. The other big shows that are perceived as "newer" have actually been around a while. Modern Family already in its 4th season, and TBBT is already in its 6th season!

Called it. My favorite 3 were also the top 3(oddly enough, those top 3 are the only 3 worth a damn in the entire competition). And Curtis went bye-bye. Good riddance. Also hilarious that they found a way to bring back the insane kid.

Bon Jovi sounded OK.

I really liked the Phillip Phillips song, cool beat to it.

I called 2 of the top 3.

Nikki was literally falling out of her dress top, wow.

The top 10 performing together, sounded great, but the lip syncing was horriblke.

So are they voting just 1 off each week? I usually don't even watch the vote offs. It's such a pile of wasted time.

Uh, yeah. That's the way it's always been done unless they used the save the previous week. Then they vote of two just for the one episode.

I thought they might have changed it like they changed all the other processes this year. I guess we're stuck with watching 1 guy leave every week.

Yep, one a week. You're not alone when it comes to not watching the vote-offs. The ratings for this season have been finding new lows each week, and last night was no different. Down a ton from last week, which itself was a series low.
Down to an 3.1 (18-49) and 11.93 million overall. At this rate a rating in the 2s this season is probably inevitable-especially with the usual filler episodes.

No love for Burnell? I think he's got a cool voice. I'm not that crazy about the Rumer Willis looking chick.
I thought they will eliminate Lazaro because he sang so horribly, can't understand a word. But he got the sympathy vote. Curtis on the other hand no one will sympathize with coz he's too full of it and annoying, like Nikki Minaj the super annoying judge who ate her words when she said she'd walk out if Finch got eliminated. Only goes to show what a lousy judge she is, not of singing, but of likable personality, but then again, what does she know?

Burnell is an ok singer, I just can't stand those irritating hand gestures he makes. I mean come on, must you do that all the time?

it just goes to show how tastes differ because Kree is one of our favorites. She nailed Crying bigtime.
I would think Kree would be on everyone's list of favorites. She's certainly on mine.
