Highest gain S-i-l-v-e-r great for low lumen projectors!!!!!!!!!!!

Mississippi I have PM you but no reply. Read on a thread can get more gain so please let me know!

Also on the Spandex since I only have 400 lumens can I use the top silver flat side and the bottom
white brighter side to compensate for lack of lumens?

I really want to just paint my curved screen but might switch to the spandex if it is better.

Spandex won't work for you...you have too little lumen output.

I must go out this AM to a Theater install...I will respond via PM later, and afterward please relate your experience on this Thread for others to benefit from.

I went with the silver formula and 6oz of silver and 16oz of water and 1/2 gallon faux glaze.

Sorry mississippi could not wait getting ready for superbowl.

Plenty of gain for the Yamaha dpx-1300 running max iris and 85% on the lamp.
Image pops of the 128" Scope screen.
Estimated 400 lumens. Image to bright
If iris is off. Also can watch with lamp on
In theater silver is a great paint solution
And is to spray . Make sure to most the layers on. Cannot believe the pop without
The sizzle!

Thanks PB I will say S-i-l-v-e-r is the easiest overall highest quality solution out there for people wanting gain and is under 40.00.
I tried to like SilverFire but prefer the simplicity and yet beauty of S-i-l-v-e-r. Really you guy's hit a homerun out of the park with such
a simple solution and am forever greatful. Sometimes it is hard to reinvent the wheel. Faux Glaze/Silver/water plus graco = success:eek:

I see the finish line need the speakers grill made,paint bottom trim,and install the doors

Well ya dun wen'n dun'd it 'xactly like ya shouda.

Mebee a little bit heavy on the Silver, but not so much as to be detrimental as far as it's use in S-I-L-V-E-R.

But get a'hold of yer'self. While it's true I have been the biggest proponent for S-I-L-V-E-R for several years, and have painted what is unarguably the largest one known (225"), I am not, nor PB...the creator of such. That distinction goes to that venerable Icon of old....CMRA. He got the ball rolling...so that credit goes rightfully to him.

Of course I upped the ante by increasing the Silver Content of both the replacement "Silver Metallic s", and I also personally painted both CMRA's Screens (...the biggest is a 130" 2.35:1Sintra affair...) AND I answer all the questions and provide all the help people need doing S-I-L-V-E-R........

...........................but I do it all gladly in honor of the Camera Man. (...beside if I didn't give him his propers, I would go dry on my next visit... redface.gif )

Mississippi I was referring to all you that make this forum possible and Cmra is also the man!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried lesser and more silver but found that I like the six. My whites are super white and black inky
with light rejection. I used Lux from Michaels black velvet trim and boy does that absorb the excess
pin cusion with the scope lens. And thanks I finally have mastered the spraying techniques from
your 2 step video's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ask in the constant height forum I have a
Short short throw and mine came out to
7.5" from center to end. 128" screen with
A 132" throw. I need more curve because
My screen was built for 156" throw. Oh well I
am the only one who notices.

I just wanted to add that running the projector at 400 lumens max Iris I have no noise in the image
induced by the screen which is great since I sit right on top of the screen and the projector is plenty
bright. The interesting part I get sheen with iris off and 800 lumens and noise and sparklies in
the picture. So I would say this is of very high gain and great for older projectors and all the
new LED pocket projector like the Qumi Q2 and Q5. Hope this helps someone looking for a
cheap high gain solution with great PQ.

Just added fabric panel to back wall and have theater curtains in the works and getting ready to build a hush box.
