So I am upgrading to a 1080p projector in the $600-700. I found a Panasonic 2000 and 3000 for sale. Should I just go for the 2000 or bite the bullet and pay a little extra for the 3000? It will be mainly for gaming with a little movie and TV on the side.

I'm open to any other projector suggestions in that price range new or used.

I have a friend that has owned both and he felt it was worth the investment at the time (when the 3000 came out).

Each update has presented gains on various aspects and from what I recall the 3000 was a reasonable upgrade to the 2000.

With that said you may be best served by seeing both in person and looking to see which is better, meaning which has better convergence, lamp hours on current lamp, total hours on unit, smoke free/pet free environment, over-all condition of unit (well taken care of).
