Help with replacement for Onkyo HT-RC270

Hello, long time lurker... 1st post.

I'm looking for help selecting a replacement for my defective RC270. Like so many others I have been plagued with the HDMI switching failures.

The RC270 met my needs and I'm looking for a receiver with similar specs and features.

What receivers would you recommend around $500.00.

Has Onkyo fixed the HDMI problem on their new receivers? I don't know if I would buy another Onkyo or not.

I would look at the Harmon-Kardon AVR 1700.

Amazon has it right now for only $350, and it is a steal if you can get it for that price. It usually sells for more like $500.
