Both use the same version of Audyssey MultEQ XT; however, each offers features the other does not. Although the 6007 is a level below the 7005, it is 2 years newer and therefore offers some features not offered on the 7005 (eg. independendent Airplay to Zone 2, Spotify, gapless ALAC/FLAC) while the 7005 features PCM 2.0 over optical/coax digital to Zone 2, Dolby Headphone, and dedicated FH/FW speaker posts. Refer to the Marantz website for a more thorough comparison of each model.

^thanks! I appreciate your comments. couple of questions. On the 6007 specifications description it say, "Audyssey MultEQXT (upgradeable to Pro by Installer)." What does this mean? The main upgrading reason is audyssey as I only have 2eq right now. Also what does Current Feedback Topology mean? On the 7005 it says preamplifier stage. What is that? Also the 7005 says under the Digital Signal Processing line: SHARC 32-bit as opposed to ADSP21487 on the 6007. Whats the difference? Just newer I would assume. Other than that I'm not concerned with airplay, 3d pass through, 4k stuff. Wattage output is not really much different. Heck I could go with the 5007, considering they all have multieqxt.

Both models are "Audyssey Pro" ready which means you can either pay a professional installer about $500 (which includes the $150 license fee that applies to that particular unit) to do a more detailed EQ on the AVR using the the same MultEQ XT installed on it or you can buy the kit yourself for $550 + $150 license ($700) and do it yourself. There is a separate thread for those that have purchased the kit to learn more about how to use it, although the vast majority of kit owners use it on the more expensive models that have MultEQ XT32 (eg. Marantz 8801, Denon 4311CI/4520CI). I wouldn't be too concerned about the rest of the features you listed.

There is also alot of Onkyo models out there that have Audyssey MultEQ XT32. If the XT32 is so great, why would anybody not purchase it for the same price as the Marantz SR6007?
