LCD Flat Screen Storage Temperature

I'd like to get a new flat screen for my vacation home. During the winter months, I'm there infrequently and the heat is off. Can an LCD withstand below zero temperatures? Will it have to come to room temperature before operating? Is a plasma a better choice? Thanks

Depends on how well it was made. We have LCD's in our production trucks that sit outside in the cold for weeks at a time. Granted, they are professional grade monitors, but still very similar components inside to a normal set.

Absolutely. Let the ambient temp warm up, then wait at LEAST a few hours.

This set is rated to operate between -40 F to 122 F.

Your biggest enemy will not be temp. It will be moisture. That is why you must make sure that the room and tv reach a proper temp before operating it. To avoid condensation.
