Budget bookshelf speaker recommendations

I'm looking for 3 new bookshelf speakers for my fronts. I'd like to spend about $250 max. for all 3, if possible. They will sit on a 1X10 shelf behind TV, so I want front ported or sealed speakers. Use is about 70% movies, 30% music. I'm interested in the following speakers.

Infinity - Primus P163

Are there others within my budget you recommend?

Thanks.

Both are great budget speakers. The Pioneer BS22 and C22 are within your $250 budget. The Primus 163s are in fact front-ported but the matching channel PC251 or PC351 will put you over budget. Using another 163 as the center would also put you over budget.

Thanks. I just read the P163's are 11" deep, which means I would have to put up a deeper shelf. I'd rather not do that. And the Pioneers are rear ported, which means I couldn't flush mount them for surrounds, like my current surrounds are. Any other recommendations?

The Cambridge S30s have the right dimensions. They are rear-ported but 3 in. behind might be sufficient. They are $219 however. The matching center is the S50 at $199. On the same token, a few inches behind the BS22s might suffice as well. In any case, all of these speakers would sound best on stands but you are probably well aware of this.

Thanks guys. Any other recommendations for front ported or sealed bookshelf speakers? Thanks.

Pioneer SP-BS51-LR ($130 on amazon) and the center

The new ones only make 4" book shelves (the SP-BS42) where the older style cam in a 5.25".

To my knowledge there is no BS42 speaker only a BS22 which has the 4" woofer.

And I also think you mean BS41 bookshelf since the only Pioneeer xS51 is the FS51 tower. No BS51 exists.

I do not tink that there will be a rush to make a BS42 - The BS22 bookshelf has a lower
-3 db bass point over the BS41 bookshelf. >>> The BS22 can play loud and take some
power and will not easily burp. That is a good woofer on that speaker.

There is no such speaker on Amazon or Pioneer's website. And the BS series are rear ported anyway.

Thanks, but those are rear ported. I need front ported or sealed.

So far, the Infinity P163 it is.

To review, I need 3 bookshelf speakers for about $250, front ported or sealed.

Thanks. The BS22's were my first choice, until I found out they are rear ported. Anyway, I ordered the Infinity P163's last night.
