3D QUALITY: POP OUT/Benq w 1070

I have read people commenting that on newer projectors in general, 3D adds depth withIN scenes. Have you seen the 3D 'reach for it' effect, particularly with the benq w1070? I assume it depends which movie, but if made for 3d blu-ray, it should, if effect is there.

Also, although the w1070 doesn't have a 2d to 3d converter, the oppo dbp 103 dvd player ($500) does. Anyone tried this?

I wouldn't be worried about that. The quality of 3d "pop-out" depends on three things:

a) content,
b) ghosting - perfect on any DLP,
c) contrast - typical for DLP DC3, good enough behind the glasses, I suppose better than W7000.

I thought the 3D effect was determined by the offset of each image for the left/right eye?
Where the greater the offset, the further the object comes/retreats to you?
