Fast Forward / Rewind in WMC

Hi,

I know there are quite a few older posts on this subject, but I have not seen anything recently.

I wanted to know the options for enabling "true" FF and RW capabilities for mkv files...not skipping forward and backward and using the number keys.

Currently I use media browser in wmc7, and FF/RW does not work for mkv (why does it work for video_TS though??)

Does MPC-HC allow for true FF/RW? Does XBMC? are there any other 3rd party programs/solutions out there?

thanks for the help,

Chuga

Media Control Plugin will allow proper FF/RW when using Media Center

THIS POST on my forum explains how to set it up.
Windows 8 is also supported.

Does that work with MPC-HC or only with the Media Center Player? I'd rather have 23.976 fps over a 3-2 pull down scheme and put up with the skip rather than true >> and << but if I can have both that would be fantastic.

Media Control is a Media Center plugin based on FFDshow and created by one of the FFDshow developers. The developer has since abandonned the project but a user on my forum has taken up the project.

I just looked at the screen shots and it looks as if 23.976 fps is possible but it isn't using MadVR but rather EVR (CP)?

Thanks..

Where is the source code for this located?

I guess this is it:
http://mediacontrolmce.sourceforge.net/
