I am building a new music/HT system. I've decided to do a separate amp, a 2-channel pre-amp with HT bypass for music and an AVR for the HT part. I intend to use an Oppo 103 to play DVDs and music CDs.
In looking for a 2-channel pre-amp with HT bypass, I came across the Bel Canto Pre-6 Gen II. After some further reading it seems this is a pre-amp but not a processor? I guess I didn't realize the distinction until now.
Will the Pre-6 work in the setup I described above? I am comparing using it to say an Emotiva XSP-1.
