PS3 + ACER H5360 + nVidia 3D Vision = PS3 games in 3D??

I have a PS3 , Acer H5360 and the nVidia 3D vision kit with a new video card on the way ( should get that today). Can I play ps3 games in 3D with that setup or do I have to get something else for the PS3?

I found an old post from few years ago that mentioned Optoma 3D-XL kit and thought I read something about a monoprice kit but I would like to know if that is still necessary.

you can use the nvida kit with a PC connection but not the PS3.
You need a 3d-xl or the like to get a 3d image out of the ps3.
I personally have a Viewsonic vpl3d device which sits in between my 5360 and my ps3 -- has worked flawlessly for the last year.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the Nvidia glasses work with the 3d-xl or Viewsonic vpl3d? I'm not seeing anything about vpl3d but assume its like something like this http://www.amazon.com/View-Sonic-Video-Processor-VP3D1/dp/B004ULPF50

No, you will need a pair of dlp link glasses and a dark room for the 3d-xl. A dirt cheap pair will do just fine.

This is like settling for jerky while steak is on the table.

You need the 3d-xl to get that jerky. I like jerky by the way. But man...steak! You're in for the best 3D experience on your PC.

Now that I think of it, there was an old trick where if you ran the Nvidia 3D test loop on your PC, the 3DVision glasses would sync with a Mitsubishi DLP HDTV and a PS3. I need to try it with the super big screen some day when I'm bored to see if it still works.
