[Advice needed] Get a 2012 model now, or wait for a 2013?

First I should say that I have had Sony TV's since my 27" tube I got in 1996. Currently I have two Sony's, a 46" XBR6 and a 40" W5100, and two Samsung's (an older 32" purchased 5+ years ago, and one 37" purchased within the last year) but I forget their models. I generally like Sony's picture quality better, and they seem to upconvert SD sources better.

In any case, we moved into a house with a bigger family room so we are thinking about getting a bigger TV to use in place of the 46" XBR6. (we'd then move the TVs around based on size in the play room and bed rooms). There is nothing wrong with the XBR6, its picture still looks great! Its just seems too small for the room (about 17x16), especially now that its mounted over the over place. So there really is no hurry.

I was looking at Sony again, probably a 55" HX750 or HX850, but as the 2013 lines are going to start coming out in the next few months, I'm not sure if I should wait, or pick something up now.

I don't care about 3D. We use our LG BD570 to stream Netflix, and picts/music/videos from our home network. I never used the widgets or apps on the KDL-40W5100, and we have ipads and android tablets for internet access/facebook/etc so don't need any of that. I just want a GREAT picture for HD and SD stuff (our little guy still watches Disney JR, etc which Comcast doesn't have in HD in our area yet, as well as some older DVD's).

So what are peoples thoughts and opinions? Is now the time to buy? or wait for next year's sets? Is 55" big enough for the room? Is there a non-Sony set I should consider, if so why?

So I waited a little too long.

Local retailers don't have the 55HX750 anymore.

My choice is buy the 60EX645 locally or mail order the 55HX750, both would be the same price (except for shipping), and for the 60EX645, i could possibly drive to Delaware and save the sales tax too. (assuming the box will fix in the back of my Saab 9-4x which is the same size as a Caddy SRX).

With both being the same price, is it worth getting one over the other? What about 55" vs 60" in a 16' wide x 17' deep room?
