Help with home theater debating between bic or fluance

I have a onkyo txnr 809, two bic V1220's, and a set of energy rc micro 5.0s. I'm looking to upgrade the speakers and maybe use the micros for rear surrounds in a 7.1.

My room is 16x16 and 8ft ceilings, tile floor. I'm a noob so bare with me any help is appreciated

1x BIC Venturi DV84 8" Tower Speaker
1x BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S 2-Way MTM Center Channel
1x BIC Venturi DV62si Bl 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf

or go with the fluance ESHTB Higher Fidelity 5 Speaker Surround Sound Home Theater System

initially i was looking at spending 1k, however i read good things about the bics and the set up comes to 520 so i want to see what i can get for around that price that compares to that set up.

The center is important. Doesn't look like it got good reviews.

If I can get 2 used cbm 170 se for 200 and a cmt 340 center 200 would that be better than the Boston set up? I might be able to get 2cbms go

Its the matching A series center, not sure what reviews you're talking about, but if it's random user reviews those have to be taken with a huge grain of salt as setup and placement is a major factor.

I would place the A360s over the 170s. The center's are kind of a wash, as the total lcr needs to be considered not just a single speaker.

would you reccomend the A25 for surrounds instead or will i even be able to notice the difference?
The A25s would be a better match sonically if everything is ideal. Depending on your placement options for the surrounds they may or may not work better. The soundware are very ideal surround speakers, given there price it would make sense to try them.

This is a hard decision

the bic comes out to $413 for 2 towers and a center shipped and no tax. i can use the rc micros for surrounds and it matches the speakers

The Bostons are more expensive for only the towers and matching center from a diff website comes out to $556
I would then have to purchase the ab125 for $212 a pair to match the white set up

are the bostons really worth the extra cash?

The rc micros won't match the bics any more then the would the Boston's, so you could use them as surrounds for either setup. IMO the Boston's are a much better speaker.

What about with a 1k budget?
That would make stuff like an Ascend 340 lcr and Arx A5 setup available to you. The Boston's are very similar in performance to those setups, so it's really up to what you're willing to spend.

Ok going to get the boston towers. I dont really like the white but i wonder if i can eventually paint them black somehow.

Sure you can. Not sure if the finish is vinyl (likely) or paint, but sanding it off and repainting it is definitely doable if you're up for a little DIY project.

Well i ended up getting the towers in white and the black center and 4 of the white soundwares. My wife liked the white color because it blends into the walls so it will do for now. they also threw in free shipping when i asked. got the set for 672 no taxes and shipped. il follow up after i test the system

The Polk Monitor line is a budget speaker much like the Bic's you originally linked. The Boston's are a more mid level setup.

System sounds good only have sub center and towers. Gonna go the In ceiling route for surrounds. Looking at niles cm7 fx or speakercraft aim7two. Any reccomendations would be appreciated.
