Denon AVR 1513 vs. H/K AVR700

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Yamaha RX-V371BL that crapped out on me after 1 hour of usage. After trouble shooting the issues, I gave up and returned it to Amazon. So, having said this, I'm looking for a new receiver in the next few days. I only need it to use the built in 5.1 ceiling speakers that I have in the place that I currently live in. There's a few that are currently on sale at best buy:

You might want to consider the Onkyo 515 or 616.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I'm on a budget with regards to buying a receiver for around $250 and under. I'm a beginner to home theatre systems so I think the 515 or the 616 is out of my league for the time being. Any comments with regards to the two I linked?

Well, I still recommend Onkyo. I think Amazon has the TX-NR414 for $230.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm located in Canada though. No comments on any of those 2 receivers linked?

The 1513 is probably the better of the two, but I think the Onkyo has more features and better performance at a comparable price.

I don't think I've ever seen a review of the HK AVR 700.

Lots out there about the 1700 but crickets on the 700.

One more receiver to consider is Pioneer VSX-1022K, lot of features and lot of user feedback in this forum. If I hadn't gone with the HK AVR-1700, I would have gone for the pioneer as well. I also returned the RX-v371BL to amazon after hearing how wimpy it sounds (of course it was was the bottom of the barrel model for yamaha).
