Looking to build a home theater subwoofer with either horn or sealed/acoustic design. Budget would be around $100 for a driver. Not looking for a top performer, just what people have tried and worked well at that price point.

Wood used will be baltic birch, and wood work level is intermediate to advanced.

Not interested in a HUGE build, something a bit on the compact side would be nice, I guess 3cu/ft would be a decent reference point.

The Infinity Reference line has drivers in your size and price range. The bigger ones, especially, are amazing values.

I have the infinity reference 1262w, one per cab and two cabinets. each is 1.25 cubes, wired two ohms and pushed by a crown xls 1000. each cabinet, including wood and driver, cost under $100. I love them
