Screen for BenQ W1070

Hey guys,

I just ordered the BenQ W1070 Projector.

I won't be doing a DIY screen, but will be ordering one.

My room is 28x26 and mostly light controlled. There will be occassions of some ambient light, but no direct sunlight.

I will be projecting either 100 or 120"

What screens have you guys had good luck with, for those that have set up this projector?

Typically the screen stays and the projectors change.
So one does not normally "Buy a screen for a projector"
Room conditions, budget and type of screen and size dictate the screen you need more than the projector.

There is probably more research needed in picking a screen with less helpful input than there was for choosing a projector.
You first have to set your budget, then did you want a fixed frame or retractable.

Most people only have experience with the screens they have owned, and as stated above, the number is normally a lot less then the number of projectors. You will need to do some research, read a lot of threads looking for similar setups and happy campers.

I just upgraded from a BenQ W5000 to a BenQ W1070. My screen is an Elite EZ Frame in CineWhite. The screen size is 100 inches. I am mostly light controlled but during the day the picture used to look a little thin on color. The new projector easily defeats ambient light. My previous screen was an Elite pull down with a white screen that had a slightly higher gain (1.2?). I chose my Elite because it was affordable and looks great on the wall. It was a good balance between cost and performance. The 1070 easily can fill a 133 inch screen. Its incredibly bright.

Yes it is...almost too bright LOL. I'm seating 15 feet back and it's plenty bright. I have the same exact screen in 150". Love this PJ.

W1070 is my first projector and I am impressed with its color and brightness (thou I have not compared it with others). I am planning to paint wall with Sherwin William white or Behr Silver. Any suggestion on paint color for this projector? I am going 133+

There is a complete forum under this..just look up at the top of the page, dedicated to DIY painted screens.. you will get lots of help in that forum.

After going though lots of threads I have concluded to go with SW 6260 unique Gray paint. Last call…
