DishNet vip211 EHD question

I had an EHD that was trying to go bad. I got a new EHD a month later. My question is, can I somehow clone the old EHD before it completely crapps out to the new EHD? I have a desktop pc with Ubuntu on it if that helps. The old EHD has only used 250GB an I'd like to merge it with the new EHD.

You can do this easily using LInux on the regular Dish DVR EHD, since all partitions are ext3. I have no idea what the DVR Conversion disk file format might be. If you bought an identical replacement disk, you can always copy every sector on the old to the new without worrying about file systems.
