Solution to TV over a Fireplace! Dynamic Mounting's Down and Out Swivel Mount!

Ordering:
The way my living room is set up its near impossible to have a good position for my television. The house was built around a fireplace in the center of the room next to two cabinets. It looks nice, but no place for the TV (incase you are wondering the couches dont fit and the other wall wont work because the staircase would be blocked.
I looked for several months to find a good mount that I could lower the TV over my fireplace so its lower and I dont break my neck watching it. I have looked everywhere and the only mount I could find that actually brought a television down a good distance is made by dynamicmounting. I emailed dynamic mo]unting and sent several messages back to Kurt about the weight I could put on the mount (I have a 70 inch television that weighs about 90lbs) and told him about the specifications that I was looking for and he answered all of my questions. I ordered the mount and it arrived a week later.

Installation: The mount comes in just a few pieces and is very easy to install. The directions were common sense. Let me give you some advice though, when you get the mount ready before you drill holes in your wall make sure you game plan the downward travel out so you get the drop distance you want and avoid the mantel. I used some C clamps to hold the mount onto an old door that I have and pulled the mount down to the distance I wanted it and used a tape measure to compare the distance to the mantel, height of the tv, and downward travel of the television to make sure the brackets didnt hit anything before I bolted it on the wall. After we got it game planned out, I drilled a few holes in the wall and set the mount up there with a little help. It turned out to be fantastic!

Reaction: This mount is a huge hit, my wife was able to pull the mount down with ease. When we bought the mount I did not want any of the top bracket to show because I felt that would be unsightly and I was willing to even hire a contractor to lower my fireplace mantel so that I could get the drop distance on my tv that I wanted but because the mount was able to drop it far enough I saved myself some big money by not having to do it.

Review: This mount is absolutely awesome. It is easy to pull down, has a custom made feel to it, and does exactly what I wanted it to. if you have a television in a high place or over the fireplace I would definetly recommend it. Watching a TV that is high is a pain so dynamic mounting makes it much easier. I recommend the Down and Out Swivel Mount As Well, it allows you to turn the television left and right at any position so you can watch it while making dinner or sitting in another room. Superbowl is at my house this year....man this is gonna be amazing!

That is a paid advertisement. Notice how the guy is a first time poster who just signed up and immediately posted that message - he didn't even have time to type it, it was obviously prepared ahead of time and cut-n-pasted right in.

The company that sells those gives customers a rebate for every "testimonial" they post on sites like AVS.
It is scummy and misleading because they obviously won't pay for negative reviews.
Don't reward them for trying to manipulate you (and violating AVS's ToS regarding advertising).
They ought to be black-listed.

Say what you want but this TV Mount has been absolutely amazing. This is a common problem and I looked months for a solution, I couldnt find anywhere else that would fit a 70 inch television over my fireplace. I couldnt be happier.

You aren't even a regular member here, your sole reason for signing up was to post an advertisement that will put money in your pocket. Why should we believe a word you said? Why is this even in the "found deals" forum? The only one getting a discount here is YOU.

I believe you are right JerryW.

He might be an advertiser, but the concept still makes tons of sense. Fireplace and TV in same spot makes lots of sense for seating and a too high TV = not so great. We are thinking of getting one recommended by Sensorium guy Bryan Bilgore (unlikely to be this brand)
