Vizio E420i-A1 with no QWERTY remote? Scandalous...

Okay so after a bit of deliberating, I bought a Vizio 42" TV.

It reviewed pretty high on most sites and the reviewers talked about the qwerty keyboard being a plus.
On Amazon they sell replacement QWERTY remotes for the E420i-A1, eBay as well.
The MANUAL even references the QWERTY keyboard for the love of Pete.

So based on what I've said so far you'd think the unit comes with a qwerty keyboard right?

After speaking with Vizio reps two separate times, they maintain that these units never came w/qwerty keyboards and a qwerty keyboard won't work with it.

Then why would people be selling these remotes, right?

They suggested another LED that costs $80 more and has a much lower Contrast ratio (2mil/1 vs 200K/1) so I'd rather keep it if possible.

My question is has anyone used this model with a qwerty?

Haha, no keyboard on the back TK-422. Imagine how embarrassed I'd be if that we're the case though : )

I'm wondering if it has the same hardware/software as the 50" model (which has a qwerty keyboard).

I'm just perplexed as to why there are remotes out there if they "won't work with the unit."

When I called, they were pushing the Co-Star box pretty hard which conveniently had qwerty and "would solve my problem." I was thinking, you do know I already bought one of our TVs right?

Wow. So I went ahead and bought the M420SL for the sole purpose of have QWERTY, and low and behold, the remote that came with it FREAKIN WORKS WITH THE E420i-A1!

How annoying that Vizio is either lying or ignorant about their own products.
