Polk Monitor 45B speakers

Hi all,

I am looking at these Monitor 45 B speakers from Polk, but can't seem to find too much reviews on them. Can someone provide some insight on them?

http://www.polkaudio.com/products/monitor45b

These will be used as two front speakers in a 5.1 setup.

Thanks!

They are akin to the Polk Monitor 40's and TSi200s (extremely similar in performance and sound). Read some reviews of those speakers for reference

Check Newegg.com as they have the best price for these speakers and have some reviews of them.

I'm looking at a pair of these now to be used for music in a simple 2.0 set-up.

What do you think of them?

I also ordered the Monitor 45B's, mine, here in Saskatoon. These 45B's blow away my older Polk Audio RTi4's they replaced in all categories. Nice bass, nice mids and nice highs. For the price, its more or less impossible to find a better speaker @ $188/pair ($210 after tax). I spent a week looking in Sask/Alberta.
For the record, I found the RTi4's a little bright in the highs, not enough mid range and lacking bass...still a good speaker/$, but nothing compared to 45B. It just surprised the heck out of me, I didn't expect them to be this good. I never thought I would say this, but you don't really need a sub-woofer with these. They are just fine without eek.gif
If you can buy them @ this price DO IT NOW. Otherwise, @ $300-$400, the competition thickens a lot and changes things a little.
