Vizio used to make one, but I cannot find it any more.
HDMI over fiber.
AVS Top Picks
I see Celerity, Rainbow Fish, and Crestron come up in google searches.
A trade magazine had an in depth comparison of HDMI extenders, print edition, last month. I looked just now - not on their web page, can't locate it with a google search. I don't recall if they included fiber solutions or not, but they tested each HDMI extender with cat5, cat5e, and cat6, and included HDBaseT extenders. IIRC, it was from Sound and Video Contractor.

Wondering if it will break an HDMI ground loop since there don't appear to be any transformer options for HDMI. We have a plasma on a different outlet from the sound system which also contains the Oppo Blu-ray player. Currently running a 50 ft HDMI between the two using analog outputs of the Oppo to the Processor. Notice that if cranked to zero attenuation on the Processor that there is a hum/buzz not noticeable at listening levels that we'd like to get rid of. The only thing that will make this buzz go away is disconnecting the HDMI cable at either the plasma or the Oppo. It's caused by difference in ground potential even though the plasma and audio system share the same circuit. If you disconnect power to the plasma and touch just the ground lug to the outlet without connecting line and neutral the buzz/hum comes back.
Does anyone here have first hand experience is this to share?

Just received and quickly tested the Active HDMI Fiber Cable by Celerity. It works, passes 1080p 3D just fine and eliminates the ground loop that was causing the hum/buzz from the difference in ground potential between the plasma's ac receptacle and our component cabinets ac receptacle. Both receptacles are on the same circuit breaker but at different ground potential located across the room from each other.
The quick test was performed by running the 60 active fiber across the floor, will be installing the run cable over the weekend.
Jensen Transformers doesn't currently offer an HDMI isolation transformer perhaps they will offer one in the future but an active fiber cable will achieve the the same hum free performance. Perhaps three stereo isolation transformers from Jensen going between the analog outputs of the Oppo to the Audio Processor inputs would also have eliminated the hum/buzz but that would have cost more than the active fiber solution.
If Jensen could develop an HDMI isolation transformer perhaps it could be less expensive than an active fiber hdmi cable but it is an open niche market opportunity at this point.
