install ?

any opinions on whether mounting my epson flush to ceiling or on a 1' down rod effecting picture quality?
I originally planned to use the 1' drop to clear a ceiling fan, but it seem the flush mount will work as well using the shift capabilities of the epson, but i am wondering if picture quality degrades when using the shift? thanks
