what to buy a friend wants a new tv 1500$ to spend

a friend of mine is getting a new tv after he came over and seen how nice my vt50 was . he wants a led tv cause of how bright it is . i told him he should go with the gt50 or the st50 in 55' i myself would never get an led .anyways what do you guys think any leds would help also plasmas of course thanks fellas

yah i seen the pnd8000 also im just trying to find the best 55 or larger and pq 3d is something wanted to

the only reason i would get an led is if i was going to do a pc home theater hook up . i would like to do that though i do alot of stuff on the net.he wants a good picture and 3d

Hi,

Why would you only go with and LED to use with HTPC? Any reasons why a Plasma would be good with HTPC? I'm asking because I have a HTPC and the ST50 is the one I'm looking at. Thanks.

my wife does photography and edits alot and the same menu is on there for 6 8 or even 10 hrs at a time

?? it's 59 inches. pq and 3d are excellent, probably better than the Panasonic. Also supposedly less prone to IR.

Oh, I see. You're using it as a PC also, in that case, LED is the way to go.

If you're going to go Samsung, go with the E6500. Same PQ as the 7000/8000 minus the super-thin casing and some of the superfluous features. David Katzmaier at Cnet even said the PQ on the E6500 was slightly superior, for whatever that's worth. At your friend's price-point he can grab the 60".

well the vt50 is on sale for 1600 so i think hes gonna go with that thanks for the input fellas
