what to buy a friend wants a new tv 1500$ to spend

a friend of mine is getting a new tv after he came over and seen how nice my vt50 was . he wants a led tv cause of how bright it is . i told him he should go with the gt50 or the st50 in 55' i myself would never get an led .no offense unless to use for a pc home theater setup. anyways what do you guys think any leds would help also plasmas of course thanks fellas and anyone with the sammy 7000 or 6500 es or d models would help not much info on them
