Dear Gurus,

This is my first message.
I really did all my best for this post.
I have attached an image of my living room.
home2.jpg 139k .jpg file

Could you please please please suggest me the best image quality 1080p projector. I have curtains I can make the room very dark but I will be happy to use it with ambient light without loosing image quality.

1) Throw distance = 4.50m
2) Watch distance = from 4.5 meter on a couch alone
3) Screen size? = 3-4m by 3-4m (my wall is 4.5 height by 5 meter width)
4) Budget? = I can go up to 1500€/2000$ if makes sense
5) DLP or LCD? = I really dont know
6) Noise = I dont mind
7) Size = I dont mind
8) 3D = I dont want!
9) Life = I dont mind
10)Image Quality = I really want to watch with the best quality
11)Where to put = anywhere on top of independent side table
I have space. Not on ceiling.
12) Sound = I dont mind. I have speakers.

i hav a Epson 8350 mounted on a shelf about 20ft back on a Jamestown 120 screen. happy as can be. I might upgrade to a 135 inch Jamestown

The 8350 would make a good choice I think. I just got back to this post and initially didn't respond because, even though you did include alot of info on what was needed, (good job!) meters/euros.... takes a little more effort to determine the distances etc., your working with, for us non European types here, at least for me. smile.gif

Last years Epson 5010 might be a consideration as well, as both of these pjs will allow you to use "lens shift" allowing more placement options. The brightness on the 5010 will be a benefit on a larger, 4m? screen. The Benq 7000 might be a good option, (looks like it's in your price range), but look into the "cons" to see if any might sway you against it. It's being well received. http://www.projectorreviews.com/benq/w7000/summary.php This is a DLP pj and some people have issues with seeing (RBE) rainbows http://www.projectorreviews.com/advice/HomeTheaterProjector-FAQs/ProjectorsRainbowEffect.php which can be an issue, even though most dlp pjs can generally be a little sharper looking than their lcd counterparts.

The Epson 5010 and Benq are 3D pj's, and even though you don't want that capability, their 2D images are very nice and still within your price.

Dear socal swagger and jnabq

First of all thank you for the detailed explanation

Can you compare epson 8350 with benq w1070.
Because there are very very good reviews for benq 1070 2D performance

I will be happy if you can also add

Epson EH- TW3200
Epson EH- TW6100w
EH- TW6100 I think is the US Epson 3020, the EH- TW3200 I don't know. Between the TW6100, Epson 8350, and 1070, I think the Benq 1070 would be the better overall pj. for value. The 8350 and the Epson 5010 may be better at blacks however, but even though epson support is very good, quality control has left some people irritated with their purchases at times, making them hard to recommend lately. Epson 8350/5010 better overall blacks, but easier placement. due to the limited lens shift on the Benq 1070. If the 1070 will work for your placement, it, or the 5010 would be my choice with a lean toward the 5010. Most of these are summarized well by coderguy. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1391476/coderguys-top-projector-picks
