Motorola DCX700-M

What is the usb port on the front of the motorola dcx700-m used for?Is it a service terminal or is it for videos and pics used off of a pen drive?I have put a pen drive in the front port but nothing happens,is there a way to turn this port on? If so any help would be appreciated.

Totally depends on the firmware/middleware being used. Usually you can use the +5v from it to charge an iPad, etc. But for now, that's about all.
