I'm temporarily staying with my folks while renovations are being done on a new home. I was rummaging around in my Dad's basement last night and came across my old pair of Infinity Reference Threes:
Here they are. Note the damage to the foam around the woofers:

I remember trading in a set of Pinnacle PN50s (with the diagonal duct) for these Infinity speakers when I was a junior in high school. They lasted me all the way through college, and as I remember, sounded really nice.
So I did a little research and saw that for $30 or so, I could get a re-foaming kit for them. Think it's worth doing? Not sure if I'd keep them or sell them, but it would be nice to get them running again.
Also, it's been a good fifteen years since these have been hooked up and played. I don't really want to spend any money on these if they aren't operable. Can I hook them up as is -- even with the foam issues -- just to test them out before going to the trouble of repairing the foam?
Thanks!!!
