Very funny thread! Like others, I also always say "No highs, no lows, must be Bose". I recently attended an event that had a Bose L1 / B1 speaker setup - we were looking up the price on our phones and actually laughing that someone had spent thousands of dollars on this "PA" system and it sounded like crap! A portable JBL system that my friend has costs half as much and sounds twice as good. The only Bose product I would ever consider is their headphones - decent sound and very comfortable for long listening.

"Well heeled" people who don't want to know anything about sound quality or learn what it can be - more concerned about impressing the Jones's by product name dropping. You know what they say about fools and their money. There are many other products that cost less, sound better, and are exactly the same in terms of "plug and play" - they just don't have the name that Bose has (Tivoli, Cambridge, etc)
