First projector purchase - Epson 3020 vs Epson 8350 - 2D picture quality?

Hi All - Looking for some advice on my first projector choice. biggrin.gif

I think I've narrowed it down to either the Epson 3020 or the Epson 8350, but am looking for some help.
  • Budget: Up to $1,500
  • Primary use: Movies & Gaming
  • Screen: Elite CineWhite 120" (1.1 gain)
  • 3D not a necessity
  • Gaming very important
  • Some ambient light, very little

I've thought I was set on the 3020, but the input lag is really turning me off, plus I don't see myself using 3D very often.

My question is in regards to the 8350:
  1. Is the 2D picture quality of the 8350 on par with the 3020?
  2. Will I see a brightness difference between the 2300 lumens of the 3020 and the 2000 lumens of the 8350?
  3. Are there any reasons, besides 3D, I should still consider the 3020?

if 3D is not important i would go with the 8350
i had one but just sold it to upgrade to the 5020UB,LOVED IT .
yes you will see a brightness difference between the two, but if you have a dark room you will be ok with the 8350.

Get the 8350 and with the money you saved, get a Darbee.
