Which is better? My price range is around $3000 to $4000, and I have all the tools and knowledge needed to fully calibrate whatever display I do get.
I was thinking of getting a cheap DLP 108" TV, but it would be extremely difficult / expensive to safely transport. I'm planning on shipping this display device to a third world country and start a small home theater business (~50 seats). The display must do 3D, 1080p, and preferably high frame rate (at least 120 for non-3D). So I'm now leaning towards spending the extra dough on a better projector.
The display device will be in a (virtually) ideal display environment when it comes to seating distance(s), bias lighting, and ceiling/wall color.
I haven't purchased a TV in probably ... ever. But I work with displays daily, and have done a tremendous amount of research on display calibration.
