Wow, full-screen BL a mere 0.000875591 ftl (if my calculator was correct wink.gif) and indeed tops the Kuro as he clarified in the review.eek.gif

It's really interesting. Panasonic made a notable improvement on the ST and VT with MLL, so seemingly it will be notable improvement on the ZT over VT. I wonder what it can achieve? I may have to consider the ZT yet as I am have been focused on the VT and F8500. lol

^There you go. What I don't understand is all the side-by-sides from Panasonic where there have been several remarks that the Panasonic (ZT60) was not as dark as the Kuro on display.
maybe because the ZT60 has to break in (100 Hours)...but i don't think that beat a KRP500 but i think it's a yes for 9G Owners that want to upgrade

The view wwas basically OOTB settings intead of calibrated settings, so it would make sense to me.....Especially since those were not batcave instances......In a few weeks well really know how the NA market sets hold up against each other and we may have a review on the VT60 (NA version) sometime either this week or next)......

That ZT was not a final product, I'm guessing it was a beta, and it was definitely too close to call regarding black level. It was plenty dark, but I thought last we heard on the other board, the final ZT was looking darker than the 9G, based on the insider's comments...sort of makes you wonder if the 60" and 65" VT models will get any blacker than that 55". I will say that there was greater contrast observed and also greater gradation on the ZT in that comparison demo.

The HDTVtest review basically just made me care a little less about the F8500.

I just had the thought that we'll be doing this next year, again, with the 70 series smile.gif

^As to if "we'll" be doing it next year, as for me, that depends on if I can fit one into my budget this year. ;D

The ideal scenario is one this year and one next smile.gif

Enough of such crazy talk. biggrin.gif If this holds up, my 111FD's resale value is about to take a major hit.

You better sell it now wink.gif

Yeah, I am thinking of selling my Pioneer 151HD Elite too. It seems like a VT60 or a ZT60 may just fit the bill of being at least as good.....Maybe even better than the Pioneer. eek.gif

Looks like I'm buying another plasma a year after my first. Yay!!
ha! i shouldn't be buying a tv at all this year. i have multiple sets at home already and one will definitely have to be sold or given away to make room. not a bad problem to have i guess.

No can do. All I'll have in the meantime are piddly 32" LED panels to watch. Oh well, may be worth the sacrifice for the reward it eventually garners.

Short term pain for long term gain biggrin.gif I understand your hesitation though...

Plus, I really don't want to ship it to someone; would rather sell it in person, and I'm not exactly in the biggest market...mad.gif

I'm a KRP-600M owner and have to say that I won't sell it on until I have read some well placed reviews and personally seen one calibrated, the quality on my display is something I won't gamble on.

If I loose money waiting for this then so be it, the G9 is just too good a display, however like the majority of owners I am hoping this new ZT will be the one that will make me upgrade after all I've had my display for around 4 years, so it would be nice. smile.gif

iMO it wasn't. They were very close, but the Kuro appeared just a tad darker, but with the typical reddish tinge to the blacks that so many Kuros have.

Is a Kuro calibrated correctly if it has a reddish tinge? Are the shadow details in this "tad darker" area good as the ZT60?
He's already stated as much that the ZT60 had better shadow details in his impression (unless I'm mistaken and for which I'll be corrected smile.gif). The ZT60 should be capable of going darker if a calibrated VT60 has already been measured to be lower than that of 9G.

Maybe...some sets are defective, and it may not be possible to completely eliminate the reddish hue.

That's why this guy did the smart thing. Sold his new 141 in March for $5300. He's probably going to buy a 65" ZT with it and still have money left over. biggrin.gif

That guy didn't sell it. I tracked that. He listed it twice and it got one bid from someone with no feedback. The the exact same ad showed up for a Kuro selling out of NY.

Here we see the same guy bidding against himself - http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p2047675.l2565&rt=nc&item=200901864123

Here's the "winning" bidders info, http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=200901864123&aid=n***b&eu=KFqCAITIEhHrnVdvo6O6hLc7yzpz0ZHK&view=NONE&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_None_ViewLink
