DIY 3 way Floorstanding speaker , help needed!

hey guys new to the forums here, just looking for some added advice for the DIY build, heres what i plan to get,nothing expensive really

if i chose poorly then please comment, but my main question is for the box, i want it to be ported, just not sure what frequency i should be tuning it to ,i was think about 28hz or so, im used to car audio an not to much on the home audio side of things

also would using an L port be a bad idea, or should i just use a circular port

First off, you can't just pick out some various drivers and expect an off the shelf generic crossover to work with them. If you do not have the proper know how to build custom crossovers then stick to a proven design that has an existing crossover design that you can copy. I am not sure why you choose this combination of drivers, but of it were me, would go with a Seos12 design, or something such as the mini-statements.

Following a proven design is much easier than trying to work up your own. A little searching and you can probably find a design based on a particular woofer or tweeter that you want to use. +1. Another consideration is why a 3 way? That's OK if your intent is music only and for that reason you only want to go to 35-40Hz. If you want to go lower separate subs and 2 way tops will work much better.

I have a design using that tweeter, the DC160 as a mid, and the SD215-88 as a woofer if you're interested. Like everyone else has said, random drivers and off the shelf x-overs are not going to cut it.

ok i understand main reason i wanted to make them 3way is because i already have the crossover, i have a set of 2 ways also, both were givin to me , so i figure i could make something decent sounding with those, so i dont think ill be making my own crossover

You're not going to get anything decent with an off the shelf x-over... What's your budget? There are plenty of kits with assembled crossovers if that part intimidates you.
