Is this sub really only 35 pounds? I sometimes hear other people talking about subs should be on the heavy side.

Do you have any reason to doubt the published specifications? This is a very well-reviewed model that has been produced for a while.

No none at all. I found one out in vegas for $300. It's just boggles my mind on how light it is.

^^
It is a steal for $300. Grab it before it is gone.

I will get it tonight. I know it's a broad question. But between the sb12 and the outlaw lfm1-plus that I currently have. Which would produce better bass if I go dual?

One is sealed one is Ported. Two different sounds.

Depends on if you want a more musical sub or a louder deeper extending sub.

Had my SVS SB12 NSD for around 3 weeks and love it! Works great in my bedroom.

After setting it up using the instruction on the website. And running audyssey. The bass sounds tighter and hits harder. Music sounds awesome. Will most likely get a second sb12.

Has anyone tried this sub with orb speakers? I currently have orbs own Uber 10, and I was thinking about getting a superior sealed sub for the tightness in bass. I want to know if it would be an worthwhile upgrade though considering the orb guys told me the uber 10 goes down to 21hz +-3 db while this sub goes down to 23hz. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I question the uber 10 going down to 21hz.

I don't know much about Uber-10 but I own one of these SB12 SW. It is very musical and tight. For music I doubt you will need to go down that low anyway. Also it is ideal for small/bookshelf speakers as its freq range is wide (I think upto 260Hz). I have AG Stradas (LRC) XO @120Hz.

Depending on your room size you may need different configurations. I had a SVS dealer rep visited my house to test out different combinations a while ago. Consider

1 x SB12 --> Small to medium size room (say, up to 4 x 6m)
2 x SB12 --> Big room, or
1 x Sb13 Ultra --> Big room
