Many of us have been fortunate to see this at Cliffs and some have seen a four G90 stack.Unless I am mistaken, it is a stack or overlay not a blend although that may have changed. Cliffy, I and others have seen CRT blends using Electrohomes.

Cliffy. Have you retubed any of these recently? If

Now Cliffy will never find the thread again. He doesn't speak the same version of English we do .He uses bitches instead of guys. He doesn't call a woman a bitch but I would get banned if I told you what he uses instead. And be careful. He is armed.

You are asking a lot from a man who once did a four G90 stack.

My brother Mark hope all is well with you! The best I ever did was 3 and that was really pushing it lol. The three did however measure a STUNNING 18FL@ with measured on/off CR @500K to one with 10ft wide unity gain screen. That was a seriously difficult project to complete!

So today, yes the stack is still in operation with around 1100 hours on freshly replaced tubes thanks to Terry/William. I have completely ripped out and replaced pretty much the entire video chain and color corrected the greens on the G90's. Even Mike Parker and Alan chipped in! The picture is stunning. I lost light output because of the darker green C elements (9.5 FL), but wow Mark is it worth it.

I also bought the BenQ W7000 to offset using the stack for everyday use and this little bastard is a light cannon for the price!

Cliffy

Puzzling. Seems to me 'Whats up bitches' is a fairly appropriate title to this thread...smile.gif

There is pure man love between the old group of CRT lovers that has existed for many years. A whole group of us traveled great distances each year to attend gatherings. Bitches is an affectionate term as used here but I do understand that it could be misinterpretted and I understand the old fart moderator's, said with love and respect for our moderator, judgement to change it.
OK

Old fart Moderator further edited thread title

Happy now? smile.gif
Happy now, happy before. This thread is like a reunion of old bitches.

Us old bitches need to get together again in the future smile.gif Good to speak to you again Mark and hope all is well. We had a meet here recently with the stack 2.0 that you missed. Wallace's cooking skills were welcomed with open arms cool.gif

Hoping to get out to the east coast this year to visit William and the gang. You still talking to Mike?
I haven't soken to Mike in a while. I need to give him a call.
Thread title sucks now. But still it is probably better than "Old Farts Reunion" ........

But I guess b/c there is no history forum on AVS, so a photo of a G90 stack is appropriate here. Maybe the mods can think about an antique members forum?
And we get our wishes granted, finally a new thread on a $20K+ MSRP projector;-).

Gino and Antorsae did do blends, not stacks. Perhaps Antorsae experimented with four projectors, a blend & stack, I can't rememeber these guys were very busy for some time.
